Report: Innovations in Robotics, Telehealth, and AI to Propel India’s Healthcare Sector

New Delhi, April 8 – A report by Deloitte highlighted the transformative shift in India’s healthcare sector due to the adoption of digital technologies like robotics, telehealth, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The report emphasized on digital innovations, infrastructure growth, and government-private sector collaborations driving the health sector.

The government’s initiatives like Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and e-Sanjeevani, along with private entities utilizing robotics, telehealth, and AI, are shaping a digitized health ecosystem. The report also indicated a surge in the adoption of 5G by private players for tech-enabled care, leading to improved connectivity in healthcare services.

Joydeep Ghosh, Partner at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, mentioned the importance of sustaining 5G growth, especially in rural areas, to enhance tech-enabled care. Projects like ‘Anaemia Mukt Mahilayen’ and ‘Sanjeevani Pariyojana’ are utilizing digital solutions to address health issues like anaemia and provide virtual support for Covid-19. However, the report highlighted challenges such as cybersecurity, infrastructure gaps, personnel shortages, and digital disparities that need to be addressed for effective implementation in the healthcare sector.
