Musk confirms he will visit India to meet with Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) – Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has confirmed his visit to India, expressing his anticipation to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his trip. Musk, along with other Tesla executives, is expected to discuss investment plans and the potential establishment of a $2-3 billion manufacturing plant in the country.

Musk is scheduled to meet PM Modi in the week of April 22 in New Delhi, as reported by media sources. The tech billionaire highlighted that the entry of Tesla in India and the search for factory locations align with the global shift towards electric vehicles.

“All vehicles will go electric and it is just a matter of time,” Musk stated. Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu are reportedly the prospective states where Tesla aims to start manufacturing electric vehicles and potentially export them.

During his visit to the US last year, PM Modi invited Musk to explore opportunities in India for investments in the e-mobility sector. The upcoming meeting between Musk and Modi signifies a significant step towards fostering electric vehicle technology and sustainable practices in the country.
