Philips Expands Footprint in India with New Healthcare Innovation Centre in Pune

New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) – Philips announced the expansion of its presence in India with the opening of a new Healthcare Innovation Centre (HIC) in Pune. The centre, set to be operational in two years, will house R&D teams from various healthcare businesses and focus on developing innovative health technologies.

The new centre in Pune will cover office space of about 300,000 square feet in its first phase and accommodate 1,900 employees. Bert van Meurs, Executive VP of Image Guided Therapy, Precision Diagnosis, expressed, “This new centre will further strengthen our commitment to supporting the Indian healthcare ecosystem with innovative and sustainable solutions.”

With a global mission to improve the lives of 2.5 billion people a year by 2030, Philips aims to design more innovative solutions through this centre. Peeyush Kaushik, Head of Healthcare Innovation Centre in Pune, stated, “We will collaborate better with healthcare providers to attain better health outcomes.”

In November last year, Philips India launched its new innovation campus in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, showcasing its dedication to fostering innovation and technology development in the country. The company’s expansion in India signifies its commitment to advancing healthcare services and solutions globally.

The new Healthcare Innovation Centre in Pune will focus on driving advancements in healthcare technology to benefit both Indian and global customers. Philips is positioning itself as a key player in the healthcare industry by investing in state-of-the-art facilities and fostering innovation in the country.
