The wait is finally over. The counting of votes for the UP Assembly Election 2022 has begun. This is one of the most important elections in India, as it will decide who will rule the most populous state in the country. There are a total of 403 seats up for grabs in this election, and all eyes are on the major political parties as they battle it out for the control of Uttar Pradesh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh led by current chief minister Yogi Adityanath is seeking a second term. The Samajwadi Party, led by former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is also one of the most likely contenders for power in Uttar Pradesh as the party has been increasing its popularity with each passing day. Priyanka Gandhi, who led the campaign from Congress too hopes to put on an impressive show.
Meanwhile, several exit polls released last Monday (March 7) have already predicted a second term for the BJP, albeit with fewer seats and the SP being the runner-up.
One of the most popular exit polls ‘Today’s Chanakya‘ had predicted a victory for the BJP, winning 294 seats with an absolute majority. Whereas according to him, the Samajwadi Party won 105 seats and became the second most popular contender.
Let us tell you, the Counting of votes in Uttar Pradesh has started from 8 AM. The people of India will know in the first few hours whose government is going to run the country’s most populous state for the next 5 years.
