Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that he would welcome it if Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray ordered any inquiry on corruption charges leveled against him by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.

Home Minister Deshmukh wrote a letter to Uddhav

Anil Deshmukh said this by tweeting at midnight and also shared a copy of a letter dated March 21 to Thackeray, in which he demanded an immediate inquiry into Singh’s allegations. Deshmukh tweeted, ‘I have demanded the Honorable Chief Minister to order an inquiry into Parambir Singh’s allegations against me so that the situation is clear. If the Honorable Chief Minister orders an inquiry, I would welcome it. Satyameva Jayate.’

Demand for ‘milk of milk, the water of water

Anil Deshmukh said in his letter that there was ‘no truth’ in the allegations leveled against him and demanded an inquiry into the case. He tweeted and wrote, ‘I had asked the honorable Chief Minister to get’ milk of milk, water of water ‘done by examining the worships imposed on me by Parambir Singh. If they order an inquiry, I will welcome it. ‘

This claim was made in the letter

Singh wrote an eight-page letter to Thackeray on 20 March which caused a stir in the politics of Maharashtra. The letter claimed that Anil Deshmukh had asked police officers to collect Rs 100 crore every month from bars and hotels. On March 17, Parambir Singh was transferred by the state government, which was embroiled in controversy over the explosive material in the car found outside the house of industrialist Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai. A day later, Deshmukh said that some of Singh’s colleagues had made ‘serious and unforgivable mistakes’ after which he was transferred.

Param Bir Singh had made these allegations

In a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Paramveer Singh had last day accused Anil Deshmukh of recovering Rs 100 crore from bar-restaurants after meeting with police officers in mid-February. But Deshmukh had called the allegations baseless, stating that he was undergoing treatment at the hospital in Nagpur from 5 to 15 February due to being corona positive. Thereafter, he was in home isolation from 16 to 27 February.

The same fact was defended by Deshmukh by NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Monday in front of the media. The BJP leader handed over several evidences to Ajay Kumar Bhalla, accusing Deshmukh of lying, not knowing the true facts.
