BGMI Vanished From Playstore, Apple Store; A Legal Procedure Or Coincidence?

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has inexplicably vanished from the Apple App Store and Google Play for India. The game was released last year after its previous version.

PUBG Mobile was outlawed in the country in 2020 for security-related reasons. It’s still uncertain if the adventure game has been outlawed in the nation. However, if it was removed the reason could be that, it had broken the terms of service of an app store. As of this writing, PUBG New State, which was created by Krafton, (the firm that makes the game, BGMI) is accessible for downloading along both the Apple store and Play Store of Android.

BGMI Removal: A Legal Procedure Or Coincidence?

The removal’s duration is not a coincidence—recently. A BGMI-related issue had been brought up in the upper house of the parliament, Rajya Sabha. Legislators were debating whether these type of violent video games are good or bad for kids, also the effect they put on today’s generation. A media article that claimed “kid has murdered his mother depending on PUBG that he’s been gaming” was being discussed in the RajyaSabha chamber. Last season’s incident happened in Lucknow.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a Union Minister, reportedly stated on July 22 that the matter is being looked into with the help of law enforcement. The government also guaranteed that PUBG Mobile’s previous version will continue to be prohibited in India starting in 2020.

An organization spokesman said, “We are investigating how BGMI was withdrawn from the Google Play store and the App store but will let you immediately once we have particular information,” in response to a query from India Today Tech.

What About Those Who Have BGMI Pre-installed?

Players that already have BGMI preloaded on their cellphones are still able to play the game currently as well. Players are concerned about a recent update the corporation released because of a potential ban.

When BGMI returned to India this year, its creator, Krafton, declared that it had broken relations with Tencent. Tencent is a Chinese company and that Indian users’ data would be protected. Additionally, the business has a deal with Microsoft to host BGMI on Azure. Azure is Microsoft’s public cloud computing solution. Azure helps in enabling the game developers to run, expand and construct their games on a global and worldwide basis.
