#BoycottZeeNews does ring a bell, but when it comes to Bollywood it seems like people are waiting to call things out to boycott it online. Though this might seem like yet another lame excuse for the haters, but actually SRK fans have joined hands together.

The “Pathaan” actor, Shah Rukh Khan has something to do with this entire uproar, and here’s the reason why this actually happened. The hashtag #BoycottZeeNews was popular on Twitter on Monday as furious Shah Rukh Khan supporters demanded that Zee News, a contentious news source, be boycotted. Anuj Kumar Bajpai, a Zee official, was attacked by enraged SRK fans over his post urging the rejection of King Khan’s latest movie, Pathan.

On Monday, Indians raised flags on their homes to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the nation’s independence. To mark the event, several of them also participated in the tiranga march. Shah Rukh also posted a clip of the flag-raising event at his Mumbai home, along with the following commentary:

“Teaching the young ones at home the essence and sacrifice of our Freedom Fighters for our country India, will still take a few more sittings. But getting the flag hoisted by the little one made us all FEEL the pride, love and happiness instantly.”

It appears that the Zee News spokesperson posted a picture of Shah Rukh’s independence day event to urge people to avoid the actor’s upcoming Pathaan launch. Pathaan’s embargo will persist, according to the picture of Bajpai’s tweet that was extensively circulated on social networking sites.

Fans of the star responded angrily to Bajpai’s remark, which claims to have since been removed, and the hashtag #BoycottZeeNews began to become popular on Twitter.
