Hyderabad. Goldman Sachs on Monday said it will recruit more than 2,000 employees by 2023 at its new office in India. The investment banker on Monday announced the opening of its new office in Hyderabad. Goldman Sachs said in a press release that the Hyderabad operations began in March 2021, following the guidelines of the local government, and currently has about 250 employees.

By the end of 2021, the workforce in the Hyderabad office is expected to increase to 800. The size of the Hyderabad office may reach 2,500 employees by 2023. The new office was inaugurated by Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao. Goldman Sachs Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David M. Solomon said the new office will serve as an important innovation hub for Goldman Sachs’s wide range of businesses and further enhance its reputation as a global company.

L&T’s manufacturing unit gets contracts

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said its manufacturing arm has won contracts in the overseas and domestic markets. The company did not specify the total amount of these contracts, but said that the contracts fall under the ‘critical’ category, that is, they could be between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore. L&T told the stock exchange that L&T Construction has won several contracts for its various businesses in India and abroad. The company said that these contracts have been received in Ladakh and Ayodhya in the country, while the foreign contracts are related to Dubai, Africa, and Thailand.

Lenskart raises Rs 1,644 crore

Lenskart on Monday said it has raised USD 220 million (about Rs 1,644.2 crore) led by Temasek and Falcon Edge Capital. Bay Capital and Chirate also participated in the current round of funding, the company said in a statement. Earlier, Lenskart had raised USD 95 million from global investment fund KKR. In this way a total of $315 million has been raised.

Lenskart said in a statement that the funding will help it grow rapidly over the next 3-4 years, expand its presence in India and expand business in Southeast Asia.
