Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi has sought applications for the post of Apprentice on its official website blw.indianrailways.gov.in. The application process is on and applications can be made by 4:45 pm on 15 February. A total of 374 posts are to be filled through this recruitment process. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit which will include the marks included in the matriculation examination. In the case of two candidates with equal marks, the old candidate will be chosen first. Selected candidates will undergo apprentice training. He will also be given a stipend for his term. The duration and amount of the stipend have not been disclosed yet.

Education: For non-ITI posts, candidates must pass the class 10 level examination with at least 50 percent numbers. For ITI posts, apart from class 10, candidates should also have an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. There will be no additional weightage by holding higher educational qualifications.

Age: Applicants must be at least 15 years of age to be eligible to apply. Upper age is 22 years for non-ITI, welder trade and carpenter candidates. The upper age for the rest of the ITI trades is 24 years. Upper age relaxation has been given for reserved category candidates as per government norms.

Application Fee: Candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 100. The last date for paying the fee is on February 17 at 4:45 pm. The fees will be non-refundable. SC, ST, PH, PWD category, and women candidates are not required to pay any application fees.
