Nayanthara was born in a Malayali Christian family in Bangalore. Her father was an officer in the Air Force due to which he spent time in many parts of the country. Nayanthara completed her schooling in Chennai, Delhi, Jamanagar and Gujarat. Nayanthara also do modeling during college days. In 2003, director Satyan Anthikad gave him a break in his Malayalam film ‘Manassinakare’. Nayanthara ventured into Malayalam cinema through this film.
