Italy recognizes Covishield open door of Europe for Indians
Italy recognizes Covishield as the vaccine against coronavirus which is developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca and manufactured by the Serum Institute of India. The Indian embassy in Italy said that this would mean Indian cardholders inoculated by the vaccine will now be eligible for an Italian green pass. This may also open the whole EUROPE for fully vaccinated Indians as Italy is part of the EURO zone.
The embassy further said that Union health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s meeting with Italian counterpart Roberto Speranza and the ministry of external affairs (MEA) continuous efforts have made it possible.
Mandaviya, came to Rome, Italy, for the G20 health ministers’ meeting in September. He hold talks with Speranza on September 6 and raised issues of Indian student travelers and also asked for prioritizing travel for vaccinated Indian students in Italy.

Mandaviya earlier tweeted that he had an interaction with Mr. Roberto Speranza, Health Minister of Italy to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two nations in the field of health and medicine.
16 countries of the European Union (EU) have already recognized Covishield. In Europe vaccinated people need to obtain EU Digital Covid Certificate or green pass. Now vaccinated Indians can obtain the same certificate. Especially students who wanted to travel to Europe for studies can easily travel after taking two jabs of COVISHIELD.
The European Union is the union of 27 countries of EUROPE. The green pass exempts all individuals from travel restrictions within the EU region once they get a green pass. The EU has given 27 member countries the freedom to decide which vaccines they can approve. So even one vaccine is approved by any country it’s considered as approved by the whole of EUROPE. So after obtaining the pass for Italy now Indians can get a green pass for the whole of EUROPE.
Countries like Switzerland, Iceland, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Netherland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Estonia have recognizes Covishield apart from Italy.
