After the resignation of the Home Minister of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, the biggest question now is who will be the next Home Minister? According to Quint’s sources, NCP leader Dilip Valsay Patil can be given the charge of the post of Home Minister. He currently had the affairs ministry, which will now be handled by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.

Before Anil Deshmukh, there was an idea in the party to give the post of Home Minister to Dilip Valse Patil. But due to his age and health, he refused to take this post.

Apart from this, the name of Irrigation Minister and NCP State President Jayant Patil was also in the discussion. But according to sources, he refused to take this position.

Who is Dilip Valse?

Dilip Valse Patil is very close to Sharad Pawar and a founding member of the NCP party. He started his career as Sharad Pawar’s PA. Dilip has been elected six times MLA from Ambegaon constituency in Pune district of Maharashtra. He has held several important ministerial posts from 1999 to 2009. It includes departments like Finance and Planning, Energy, Higher Technical and Medical Education.

Dilip has also taken charge as the Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. During the floor test before the fall of the Fadnavis government, Dilip Valse Patil was appointed as the Protem Speaker. Valse Patil has a long experience in the functioning of the Legislature.
