Maruti Suzuki Swift India Launch Next Month to Feature New Z-Series Engine

The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is set to launch in India in May 2024 with a new design, features, and a 1.2-litre Z-Series engine. The hatchback will receive a major update, enhancing its appeal in the market.

The new Swift, codenamed YED, will feature a distinct exterior design with updated front grille, LED projector headlamps, new alloy wheels, and redesigned taillights. The interior will boast a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and updated seating materials.

In terms of safety, the new Swift will offer six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and a reverse parking camera. However, it may lack features like a 360-degree camera and ADAS from the global model. The highlight of the new Swift is the Z-Series engine with mild-hybrid technology, promising similar power output to the current model’s engine.

The next-gen Swift made its global debut at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show and has since been launched in other markets. The India-spec model will be based on the global version but will retain the current platform. Overall, the new Swift is expected to set the benchmark in the hatchback segment with its updated design and features.
