Meet Priya Gupta, a Bareilly woman who acted as Manjulika on the Noida Metro train

You must have heard about a recent viral video about a girl dressed as Manjulika in the Noida metro. A young girl playing the role of the famous ghost Manjulika from Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan hit film Bhool Bhulaiya. In the viral video, she can be seen walking in around the metro station, dancing and scaring the commuters. Few even ran after seeing her strange behaviour. Acts like this can be risky for the well-being of passengers.

After getting millions of views, people were more curious to know the girl behind the infamous act. The girl has now been brought to the limelight and is Priya Gupta, an Instagram influencer and an actor. 

Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of Noida Authority has ruled out any action against her. She stated- “This is to clarify that video going viral on various Social Media Platforms is a part of a commercial advertisement shooting which was held on 22.12.2022 under approved NMRC Policy for Film Shooting. Also, video clips are morphed and edited. NMRC has approved Film Shooting Policy where it provides its infrastructure including Rolling Stock on a rental basis to earn Non-Fare Box Revenue,” putting at rest to the rumours. 

Who is the girl?

She is a well-known Instagram influencer and an actor. She hails from Bareilly, a district in Uttar Pradesh. Her father Pradeep Kumar Gupta lives with his family near Hargobind Nagar at Stadium Road. In order to pursue her career as an actor, Priya now lives in Mumbai. She is working hard to make a mark for herself in the glamour industry. Over the years, she has appeared in many ad and entertainment projects. Also, she has been a part of a few OTT web series as well as made a guest appearance in an English show.
