For the tractor-trailer entertainment picture, Streep figured out how to play the guitars, and she reunited with her eldest daughter Mamie Gummer.
The movie had a mixed response from critics. “Suffragette” (also 2015), directed by Sarah Gavron and starring Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter, was Streep’s other movie at the moment. She portrayed Emmeline Pankhurst, a British political activist and founder of the British women’s liberation movement who helped women get the freedom to vote, in the movie.
