According to sources, Mukul’s distance with BJP has gradually increased. The BJP had fielded him in the Krishnanagar North Lok Sabha constituency in the Assembly elections. It is reported that he did not agree with this. Moreover, he is reportedly dissatisfied with the growing importance of Shuvendu Adhikari in the BJP. He was absent from a meeting of the party a few days ago. Meanwhile, sources said that there is a strong possibility of Mukul Roy returning to the TMC today. Rumors are rife that he may also visit Mamata Banerjee’s house in Kalighat.

Mukul Roy was known as Chanakya when he was in the TMC He is now the BJP’s all-India co-president. When he was in the Trinamool Congress, Mukul used to sort out ballot papers from Lok Sabha to Rajya Sabha, from Panchayat to Vidhan Sabha. As a result, he was basically stuck in his center.

The BJP has used TMC leaders like Shuvendu Adhikari in its campaign across the state as well as at its own center. But Mukul Roy, a player who has suffered a lot in the war, was not seen playing across the state this time as before.
