Throughout the centuries, the word changed to “Pompon”, to “Pumpion”, to “Pumpkin”. The Yellow Pumpkins were first referred to as “Gros Melons”.

The US is the biggest producer of Pumpkins, producing 1.5 billion pounds of pumpkins every year. Although Pumpkin is one of the fruits, grows in almost every continent apart from Antarctica.
