Every Year, on March 29, National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we pay tribute to those who served in the conflict. The Vietnam War was unquestionably one of the most brutal. The Vietnam War cost more than three million lives throughout the fighting. The Second Indochina War, also known as the Vietnam War to Americans, is celebrated on November 11 each year as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. The Day was established to honor the sacrifice of all Vietnam soldiers due to the lengthy nature and cruelty of the conflict.

History

The history of the Vietnam War is extensive. One of the longest wars fought in the US was this one. The war, which was the second-longest behind the ongoing fighting in Afghanistan, started in 1955 and continued until 1975. Almost 2,7 million Americans took part in this war in 1973. After the war, every military and support unit left Vietnam, but a lot of individuals and their families were still impacted by the battle.

On March 29, the nation honors all veterans of the twenty-year Vietnam War by observing the Day. Due to a large number of losses, soldiers who participated after the war had ended were not immediately treated with respect and combat assistance. To ultimately show everyone involved this respect, the day was established in 2017.

The legislation was proposed by U.S. Senators Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., in recognition of the fact that soldiers did not elect to go to war, on the anniversary of the withdrawal of military components from South Vietnam. A law honoring all Americans who fought during the Vietnam War, irrespective of where they served, was signed by President Donald Trump on March 29 and is now in effect.
