Sahakar Pragya Initiative For Cooperative Sector Development: In collaboration with the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and Laxmanrao Inamdar National Cooperative Research and Development Academy has developed 45 new training modules for primary cooperative societies in rural areas of the country (Linac).

The Sahakar Pragya programme primarily aims to enhance our country’s cooperative sector by providing information and skills to India’s rural population.

The following are some of the initiative’s primary goals:

• NCDC’s Sahakar Pragya will educate cooperative societies in the indian Population with 45 new training courses.
• Farmers will be educated about limiting risk in farming production via cooperatives.
• It will also strengthen the cooperation sector, which would serve as a buffer between producers and dishonest traders.
• A system of 18 Regional Training Institutions will be built around the country to improve NCDC’s training capability.

Sahakar Pragya’s Mission

The Sahakar Pragya Initiative’s training courses are designed to transmit both information and organisational abilities. They also endeavour to train elementary cooperative societies across the nation to be able to contribute significantly to the president’s Atmanirbhar Bharat program.

This initiative is in line with Narendra Modi, Prime Minister’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to teach and deliver information to the government’s poor farmers, empowering them to become ego and self-sufficient.

Sahakar Pragya’s Importance

Approximately 8.5 lakh cooperatives with 290 million members make up India’s vast collaborative network. The cooperative industry has been beneficial in delivering many forms of assistance to farmers. This is also true because over 94 per cent of Indian farmers are members of one or more cooperative societies.

Producers can rely on cooperation to reduce risks in agriculture and allied industries, as well as to protect them from mistreatment by traders. In Atmanirbhar Bharat, cooperatives play a significant role.

Sahakar Pragya is crucial in promoting the cooperatives industry to raise awareness and prevent deterioration among the nation’s local dwellers.

• It was founded as a governmental Organization there under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in 1963 by an Act of parliament.
• Its principal duty is to use cooperatives to organise, promote, and finance the development, manufacturing, and sale of various farming products.
• It is also in charge of assisting other cooperatives and their economic indicators.
