Nithin Kamath was born in Shivamogga, Karnataka, India to a Konkani family. He is a child of a middle-class ordinary family. His father was a bank employee and his mother was a housewife.

His younger brother, Nikhil Kamath, is also the Co-founder at Zerodha. Nithin Kamath’s wife is Seema Patil. She plays basketball. The couple is blessed with a son ‘Kiaan’.

Nithin Kamath finished his secondary school education and college in Bangalore. He graduated from Bangalore Institute of Technologyin Electronics and Telecommunications.

At age 17, he started handling his father’s trading account. He also practiced as a Propriety Trader from January 1997 to January 2004.

To obtain more trading capital he also did a part-time job in a Call Centre. He would trade in the day and work in the call centre at Nights. He worked for the call centre-focused company, Senior Telesales Executive from January 2001 to June 2004.

Nothing worked as a sub-broker in a franchisee of Reliance Money. He worked over there for six years from January 2004 to January 2010.

Later Nithin and his younger brother, Nikhil founded their stock brokerage firm, ‘Zerodha’ in 2010.

His company Zerodha also topped the IIFL Wealth Hurun India 40 and under Self- Made Rich List 2020. Nithin Kamath is also one of the youngest self-made billionaires in India.

His monthly salary and benefits go up to Rs 4.17 crore. He is the highest-paid co-founder of startups in India. Nithin, his wife Seema Patil, and his brother Nikhil Kamath, together have annual compensation of Rs 300 crore.
