Now Delhi to Meerut in just 45 minutes, expressway opened

After the completion of the second and fourth phases of the Delhito Meerut Expressway, it has been opened for traffic. Now people will be able to reach Meerut from Delhi in just 45 minutes. Earlier it used to take two and a half to three hours. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday announced the opening of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway to the public on completion.

On this expressway, the car will be allowed to run at a speed of 100 km per hour and freight vehicles at a maximum speed of 80 km per hour. After the opening of the Delhi to Meerut Expressway, the problems of jams and pollution on the main routes will be eliminated.

82 km long route work done

The construction work of Delhi to Meerut Expressway has been completed at a total cost of 8,346 crores. A total of 82 km long route has been worked under this project, of which the total length of the expressway is 60 km and the length of the national highway is 22 km.

The first and third phases of this project were already completed, currently after the completion of the second and fourth phases, it has been opened for traffic.

A total of 24 small and large bridges and 10 flyover bridges have been constructed in the construction of the Delhi to Meerut Expressway project. Due to this route being in the urban area, adequate lighting has been made.

More than 4500 lights have been installed. A camera has been arranged for security. This expressway is being developed as a smart expressway. While going from Delhi to Meerut, Sarai Kale Khan, Akshardham Temple, Indirapuram, Dasna, Bhojpur, Meerut are the gateways at places.
