Oscars 2023: ‘Naatu Naatu’ From RRR Creates History by Winning Best Original Song

Academy Awards or the most popular Oscars of all time are here! Guess what! It’s a proud moment for India to announce that the “Naatu Naatu” song from the RRR movie has won the award in the best original song category. After winning several awards like Golden Globe Award, on the international stage, “Naatu Naatu” hasn’t stop grabbing fame for India.

“Naatu Naatu” Created History

With getting the award, it wins history by becoming the 1st Indian song to grab an Oscar. For the first time in two decades, the original indian song to be nominated for the Oscars is ‘Naatu Naatu’. Also, the movie has been nominated for Academy Awards for the 1st time as well. The song has been energetically performed at the platform of the Academy Awards.

The song “Naatu Naatu” has been composed by MM Keeravaani who inculcated music into the song. Chandrabose is the lyricist and the whole movie as well as the song has been directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The movie “RRR” was released in 2022 and it’s a Telugu drama action-oriented movie being liked by people worldwide. The key characters in the movie are Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgan.

Keeravaani Receives The Award

The award has been accepted by Keeravaani in a very musical way. While receiving the award, the composer said that getting an award was “the pride of India” and he greeted the viewers and audiences with “Namaste”. He delivered a small speech citing that he and his family wished the movie, RRR to win, with the award, he is on cloud nine and feels like he is at the top of the world.

The song, “Naatu Naatu” has also been performed at the platforms of Oscars by a dance troupe accompanied by the singers Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. Guess what! It went live! In addition to this, India got another Oscar this year in 2023. A short documentary movie, or short film, The Elephant Whisperers bagged another Oscar at the 95th Oscars.
