Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has tied knots with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur recently. The traditional “band, bajaa, baraat” were absent, but the celebrations continued as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took on the role of the groom for his Thursday domestic wedding to a doctor from Kurukshetra.

The large throng that is often a part of the huge, bloated Punjabi wedding was absent from the modest ceremony. Despite the lack of information, images on broadcast and Twitter depicted Mr. Mann with his bride attending the Anand Karaj event.

Raghav Chadha, an associate with the Aam Aadmi Party, also tweeted some pictures of Mr. Mann wearing a red dress and a kalgi, and a yellow turban. Kaur was dressed in a gem kurta-pyjama.

Additionally, there were images of the groom at the wedding, strolling beneath a “phulkari dupatta” held aloft by Mr. Chadha among many others, and at his adorned home.

In one of the photos, Mr. Mann & Ms. Kaur could all be seen grinning, and in the other, they could be seen having lunch together after the marriage rituals.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, Chadha, Sanjay Singh, an AAP legislator, and other figures attended the event. Mr. Kejriwal fully engaged in the wedding ceremonies while taking the role of an elderly man from Mr. Mann’s household.

Mr. Mann, 48, will wed Dr. Gurpreet Kaur from Pehowa in Kurukshetra, Haryana, making him the very first Chief Minister of the State to wed while being in office.

Mr. Mann is engaged to be married again. He divorced his first partner in 2015. Those who have two children together: son Dilshan (17) and daughter Seerat Kaur (21).

Gurpreet Kaur, 32, is a native of a region in the Kurukshetra region of Haryana’s Pehowa region. Inderjit Singh Natt, her dad, is a farm worker. He formerly held the position of sarpanch for Madanpur village, according to media sources. Her mother owned the household. Of her family’s three sisters, she is the youngest.

The two older sisters, according to family friends, are established abroad. About four years ago, Dr. Kaur received her MBBS from Mullana’s Maharishi Markandeshwar University. Her MBBS program began in 2013 and ended in 2018, according to the family’s acquaintances, who spoke to PTI.
