The war of words between the Rashtriya Swayamsev Sangh (RSS) sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has intensified. On Friday, Bhagwat made a big statement. He said that if someone is a Hindu, he will be a patriot. This is its basic character and nature. Bhagwat said that Hindus can never be anti-India.

Owaisi’s counterattack has also surfaced following Bhagwat’s statement. Owaisi responded to Bhagwat’s patriotic Hindu statement by tweeting to him.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi came face to face on one issue. Owaisi, while retaliating Bhagwat’s statement on Hindu patriots, reminded that if Nathuram Godse was there then he would be a Hindu patriot.

Owaisi wrote in tweet, ‘Will Bhagwat reply: What to say about Godse, the killer of Gandhi? What to say to those responsible for the Nelli massacre, 1984 anti-Sikh riots and 2002 Gujarat massacre? ‘ AIMIM Chief tweeted another.

In this tweet, he wrote – ‘Followers of one religion are being issued proof of patriotism on their own, while the other has to spend his entire life proving that he has the right to live here and call himself Indian’.

Bhagwat said this
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that – if someone is a Hindu then he will be a patriot and this is his basic character and nature. The Sangh chief said this by quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s remarks in which he said that his patriotism originated from his religion.

According to Bhagwat- Gandhiji said that my patriotism originates from my religion. I will understand my religion and make a good patriot.

In fact, Mohan Bhagwat said this while inaugurating the book ‘Making of a Hindu Patriot: Background of Gandhiji Hind Swaraj’ written by JK Bajaj and MD Srinivas. He said that the name of the book and my release of it may lead to speculation that it is an attempt to define Gandhiji on his own. But it is not so, no one can define great men according to their own. This book is based on an extensive research.
