Running behind schedule: the 4-month deadline set for the Gangajal Project in Noida

Noida– Manoj Singh, Industrial Development Commissioner has now set a 4-month deadline for Government Construction Corporation and Greater Noida Authority to complete the Ganga water project. He also does an inspection of Jaitpur’s Ganga water treatment plants as well as in Omicron 1. The water of the plant was tested through a water bottle.

Last year in November, the 85 Cusec Gangajal project in Greater Noida was inaugurated. The Rajkiya Nirman Nigam initiated the project worth ₹800 crore. The project is already running behind schedule because of some technical problems in the pipeline due to which other work is delayed. The concerned officials believe by the end of June, residents of Noida and Siddharth Vihar will get Ganga water. Manoj Singh after inspecting the water, conducted a meeting with the financial agencies and real estate developers to know more about the problem between the parties. The stakeholders of the project also discussed their issues related to the challenges arising in the completion of the project. 

“The government needs to take urgent action to address these issues. The commissioner listened to our grievances and assured us of a solution soon,” stated by an official of a bank while attending the meeting. The discussion lasted for almost 2 and a half hours. As per the estimate, many developers have invested in the project, and around ₹40,000 crore is owed by the authorities. “The government is committed to resolving the grievances of homebuyers. Issues related to builders and buyers have been pending for long. The meeting was intended at hearing out the stakeholders and finding an amicable solution,” Singh said. 

The many banks that attended the meeting stated that the delay in granting permission by the authorities is the reason delay of projects.
