Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar on Sunday claimed that barring Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to lose in the upcoming assembly elections in the other three states and one union territory.

Pawar while addressing the media in his hometown of Baramati said that his assessment is based on the ground level situation and reports from these states and union territories.

Regarding West Bengal, Sharad Pawar said that the BJP government at the Center is misusing its power to target the Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Pawar warned, the people of West Bengal are self-respecting. If someone tries to attack Bengali culture and pride, then the entire state will unite and retaliate.

He said that in this case, no one can claim, they are confident that Mamata Banerjee will come back to power.

In Kerala, Sharad Pawar said that the NCP is allying with the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and there is no doubt that they will get a majority in the upcoming election to retain power.

Pawar said about Tamil Nadu that the electoral landscape was opposed by the opposition DMK and its chief M.K. Can be seen leaning in favor of Stalin.

On Assam, the NCP chief said that the BJP is already in power there and its comparative position is still good, and hence it will be able to retain power in the northeastern state.
