Chipko Movement Founder, activist, and environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna died of Covid-19 yesterday, he breathed his last in Delhi. He launched the Chipko movement in a way that everyone could understand the importance of trees, the environment, and human society. He started the movement with the idea of ​​his wife. He first became a member of the Chipko movement in the 1970s and later led the anti-Tehri dam movement from the 1980s to early 2004.

Sunderlal Bahuguna was born on January 9, 1927, in a village called Maroda near Tehri in Uttarakhand. He also took part in the independence movement at an early age. All his movements were in the Satyagraha style. Several cine-political celebrities mourned his death.
