Earlier, it was decided to admit only 10,000 people to these Games (Olympis 2020) starting from 23 July, but due to the increasing cases of Kovid-19 in Tokyo, this number has been drastically cut. This information was given in the local media report on Thursday.

Kyodo News quoted sources as saying that the organizers are trying to cut down on the number of people arriving during the celebrations at the National Stadium on July 23. The opening ceremony of the Games will take place amid the applicable emergency due to the Coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19 Pandemic). However, efforts are being made to ensure that King Naruhito of Japan announces the start of the Games by attending the ceremony.

Jill Biden, the wife of US President Joe Biden and the country’s first lady, is expected to be present among international guests during the ceremony. On Wednesday, the highest number of 1,149 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Tokyo in the last nearly six months. This is the highest number of people found infected in a single day in the city after 22 January.
