The CBI is active in the Narada sting operation case as soon as the West Bengal election has been over. Earlier on Monday, three heavyweight grassroots leaders and a former minister of the state were arrested. The CBI has arrested Transport Minister Firhad Hakim, Panchayat Minister Subrata Mukherjee, Trinamool MLA Madan Mitra, and former mayor Sovan Chatterjee. The CBI will present the charge sheet today. On March 17 this year, the Calcutta High Court ordered an inquiry. The High Court directed the CBI to file an FIR against those involved in the case. The state government approached the Supreme Court seeking a stay of the Calcutta High Court’s verdict. However, the Mamata government was reprimanded in the apex court. The apex court directed to continue the investigation. It also gave the CBI a month to conduct an investigation. The Central Investigation Team (CIT) has sought the Governor’s approval to file a case against the accused. The CBI took action only after the governor’s approval.
