Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, the management committee of the Gyanvapi Masjid of Varanasi, has filed an urgent petition before the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on the verdict given by a local court in Varanasi on 8 April, under which the entire complex by the Archaeological Survey of India Permission to conduct archaeological survey has been given. In its petition filed on Monday, the management committee has said that this order has been passed illegally without any rules.

Sunni Waqf Board will also file an appeal against the verdict

Meanwhile, an appeal will also be filed by the Sunni Waqf Board against the verdict given by the Varanasi court on Tuesday. Anjuman Intezamia’s petition filed by senior advocates Farman Ahmed Naqvi and Syed Ahmed Faizan said that the lower court had ignored the entire written representations and applicability of Order 7 Rule 11 of the Place of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 and Code of Civil Procedure Have given.

‘Allahabad court verdict is already secured’

“We have filed a petition and requested the court to hear it with immediate effect as the matter is serious,” said Anjuman Intezamia’s lawyer Farman Ahmed Naqvi. The petition said that the Allahabad Court’s decision on this matter is already safe, but the court of Varanasi is hearing the views of the opposite side.
