World Youth Skills Day 2021 Theme, History, Significance, Activities, Facts and More: World Youth Skills Day is an international celebration, held every year on 15 July. The aim of the day is to empower the skills of youth, increase the employment ratio and make their environment more productive. This day is celebrated in India as well on 15 July every year, because on this day 6 years ago, in 2015 Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Skill India Mission to empower the skills of youth, increase the employment ratio and make their environment more productive in the country. The importance of celebrating this day increases so much in this time when all the Schools and Colleges of the country have been shut down of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

According to data released by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), 70% of the world’s students or learners are badly affected by the closure of Schools and Educational Institutions. The government has been trying to reopen or shifting the whole course online. But, yet they have been unsuccessful. We can understand how unsuccessful is a government in Education Sector yet since COVID-19 with this, that in the new cabinet reshuffle, the former education Minister resigned to duty, and Dharmendra Pradhan has now been the new Education Minister.

World Youth Skills Day was approved to be celebrated every year on 15 July by United Nations General Assembly with the aim of achieving better socio-economic conditions for the youth in this challenging era for Employment.

Unemployment is the biggest problem in 21st Century for Youths. According to Global Employment Trends for Youth 2020 Reports, since 2017, the stats of young, non-employed or untrained people have increased. And tis year the day focuses upon the development of training of youths.
