The film ‘Dev.D’ is very special for Abhay Deol. The success of this film caught everyone’s attention. Also, his desire to do his film with Anurag Kashyap was fulfilled. Abhay had left no stone unturned in acting for ‘Dev.D’ and accepted all the things of director Anurag Kashyap.

Usually directors ask their actors to sleep early in the night so that freshness is seen on their faces in the morning, but Anurag Kashyap did not want Abhay’s fresh look.
In Dev.D, Abhay is shown consuming alcohol and drugs. This thing appeared on Abhay’s face, so Abhay did not allow shaving for a month.

Not only this, Abhay Deol was told to stay up late in the night and drink lots of alcohol so that his face would look swollen. They have sleep in their eyes. Abhay used to spend time with his friends all night and reached the set of ‘Dev.D’ directly in the morning. At times Abhay was not even allowed to brush.
Abhay Deol followed everything by Anurag, but his condition deteriorated so much that after the shooting was over he spent fifteen days in an ashram and meditated.
