IIT Madras: Guest Lecturer found dead inside the Campus, Police Suspect Suicide

A Charred dead body has been inside the IIT Madras Campus in Chennai. It is suspected that the body was of Unnikrishnan Nair, who was a project coordinator.

IIT Madras on Thursday night at 8 p.m. Students found the dead body near a hockey field inside the campus.The body was half burnt. The initial conclusion was that the body belonged to a person between the ages of 20-to-30.

According to Madras IIT, the dead body is of Unnikrishnan Nair, who was a project coordinator at IIT Madras. But Kotturpuram police have not confirmed this yet. Police said the body was charred and difficult to identify.

The body has been shifted to a hospital in Royapettah for postmortem. Kotturpuram police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
