Last year (2021), the central government had decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as ‘Parakram Diwas’. A high-level committee was constituted under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister to plan programs throughout the year to mark the anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose.

From now Parakram Diwas is celebrated every year on 23 January as the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

History

From now Parakram Diwas will be celebrated on 23 January in India. In 2021, before the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, it was announced by the Government of India to celebrate this day as Parakram Diwas. The Central Government has announced that the birth anniversary of the immortal freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will now be celebrated as ‘Parakram Diwas’.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack. On 4 July 1943, Bose handed over the command of Azad Hind Fauj. On 5 July 1943, in front of the Town Hall in Singapore, Netaji, as the Supreme Commander of the Azad Hind Fauj, blew the bugle of Delhi Chalo while addressing the army.

Along with this, Indian prisoners lodged in Singapore jail and Indian citizens of South-East Asia were also included in this. Its military strength had increased to 50,000.
