Box Office Collections: ‘Radhe Shyam’, ‘The Kashmir Files’, ‘Jhund’ And ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

After a huge leap from big screen release, Bollywood is finally back with a bang in the big screens. There were a lot of movies which was released this year, some with a huge commercial hit, but some didn’t really do as it was expected to, considering the star appearance it had.

Starting with the ones which released in the recent days:

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

Bollywood’s first 100 crore grosser in 2022 was ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. It Alia Bhatt acted as if there was no tomorrow in the movie, and it paid off handsomely at the box office. It was regarded as one of the best works of Alia in her career. And that’s when she proved her haters of tagging her as a mere ‘Nepo Kid’.  This is her first work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the composer.

‘Radhe Shyam’

‘Radhe Shyam’, the highly awaited historical love film starring actor Prabhas, was premiered to great acclaim. According to trade sources, however, it has flopped at the box office. The film is estimated to have generated 140 crore globally from all languages merged at the end of its cinematic release. Prabhas played a civilization palmist in the film, which was made on an expense of above 200 crore.

‘Jhund’

‘Jhund’ appeared to be on track to surpass the Badhaai Do milestone of 20.62 crores till around Monday. And besides, it had done pretty real business throughout the second weekend, and a little more consistency in the weeks ahead would have helped it outperform the Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar blockbuster.

‘The Kashmir Files’

‘The Kashmir Files’ is now seeing a downward trend after a successful 10 days at the ticket sales. However, the picture has already made a lot of money and proved its box office performance. Following a modest decline in Tuesday’s box office, the picture had another 20% drop on Wednesday.

‘The Kashmir Files’ grossed in the vicinity of Rs 8 crore on day 13 and has a total of Rs 198 crore, as per Boxofficeindia. With this massive sum, ‘The Kashmir Files’ has become the most grossing film since the epidemic. Before the end of its second week, the film is expected to have grossed over 200 crores nett.
