Lakshmi Panchami 2022: Worshipping Goddess Laksmi Will Grant Prosperity All Through The Year

Lakshmi Panchami 2022 Puja Vidhi: Lakshmi Panchami fast is observed on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Hindus of the subcontinent observe this fast to obtain the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. Maa Lakshmi is the goddess who bestows wealth, splendor, happiness, and prosperity, and she is also the spouse of Lord Vishnu. That is why it is also called Lakshmi Panchami or Shri Panchami. According to the scriptures, worshiping Goddess Lakshmi on this day can save a person from financial troubles. So let’s know how you can worship Goddess Lakshmi on this day.

Worshiping Lakshmi Panchami Vrat

The fast of Lakshmi Panchami is done uniquely. On this day, devotees wake up early in the morning and, after having a bath, wear clean clothes and worship Goddess. Offerings or prasad has got a significant place in Hindu culture. Devotees offer grains, turmeric, and jaggery to the Goddess Lakshmi. The establishment of Shree Yantra on this day is considered auspicious. The worship of Ma Laksmi culminates with havan and lotus flower, and Shrisukta is offered. If the lotus flower is unavailable, then havan can be done with vine pieces and ghee.

Among the offerings are make-up items or shringar to Goddess Laksmi and red clothes. Yellow Clothes are offered to Lord Vishnu, the husband of Goddess Lakshmi. Finally, Prasad in the form of Kheer (a sweet made with milk) is provided for girls.

Charity is an integral part of this festival, and grain and money are given to the poor and the needy. Feeding cows on Lakshmi Panchmi is also considered very auspicious. The Hindu New Year begins from the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. In this way, due to the beginning of the year, worshiping Goddess Lakshmi keeps the mother’s grace throughout the year.

It is believed that once, Goddess Lakshmi got angry with the gods and went to Kshir Sagar. Then to please Goddess Lakshmi, Devraj Indra did severe penance and fasted with complete rituals. Following her, other deities also kept the fast of Goddess Lakshmi. Like the gods, the demons also worshiped Goddess Lakshmi. For her devotees, the mother reappeared at the end of the fast.
