Swedish House Mafia Announces Six-week Residency in Ibiza
Los Angeles, Feb 20 (IANS) – The iconic supergroup Swedish House Mafia has announced a six-week residency in Ibiza. Made up of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso, the house supergroup confirmed the news through their social media posts.
They are set to play over six Sundays in July and August this year at Ushuaia Ibiza. The group took to Instagram to share the exciting news, writing: “Our first Ibiza residency in over a decade. 6 Sundays only at @ushuaiaibiza. Tickets available now in bio. See you this summer(sic)”.
In addition, the group has been in talks with Coldplay’s Chris Martin about the possibility of working together again. Steve recently revealed that they are hoping to collaborate with Martin, citing his vocals and writing style as a perfect fit for their sound.
Looking ahead to the future, the group has not ruled out the idea of performing as avatars, following in the footsteps of ABBA. Steve admitted that they may consider using hologram technology if they are “too tired” to perform live on stage.
