Yami hopes to inspire more young women to join IB, NIA

Mumbai, March 1 (IANS) Yami Gautam hopes her character in the upcoming political action thriller ‘Article 370’ inspires young women to join Intelligence Bureau and NIA. Yami’s character Zooni Haksar protects the nation from terrorist threats, aiming to connect with the audience on a personal level.

Yami emphasized the significance of Army veterans acknowledging the film’s portrayal of life in old Jammu and Kashmir. “That kind of validation is precious,” she added. ‘Article 370’ is a political thriller set against the backdrop of the abrogation of the special status to Jammu and Kashmir by the Narendra Modi government.

The film, directed by Aaditya Suhas Jambhale, depicts true events and promises a gripping narrative with political intrigue, national security threats, and action sequences. The stellar ensemble cast of ‘Article 370’ includes Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Vaibhav Tatwawadi. Yami Gautam’s character Zooni Haksar aims to inspire young women to pursue a career in national security agencies like the IB and the NIA.

“If your audience connects with the film at a personal level and says their teenage daughters want to now join the IB or become an NIA officer, that is a huge compliment,” Yami expressed. The film is set to showcase the challenges faced in safeguarding the nation’s security and the bravery of those who protect it. Yami’s portrayal in ‘Article 370’ is expected to resonate with audiences and inspire a new generation of women to consider careers in national security.
