PM Modi to inaugurate the ‘priority corridor’ of Agra Metro

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the Agra Metro Rail Service’s ‘priority corridor’ on Wednesday, connecting Taj East Gate to Mankameshwar. Agra will become the 21st city in India and the sixth in Uttar Pradesh to join the metro network, benefiting residents and millions of tourists annually.

The Agra Metro will consist of two corridors totaling 29.4 km, linking major railway stations, bus depots, colleges, markets, and tourist spots. This move will provide seamless integration for the city’s residents and visitors, enhancing connectivity and easing transportation.

Uttar Pradesh already has metro services in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Kanpur. Agra, as the fourth most populous city in the state, will now join this list, showcasing the nation’s dedication to sustainable urban development and improving the quality of life for its citizens.

According to project officials, the inauguration of the Agra Metro Rail Service highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and promoting sustainable urban development. The metro service is expected to bring significant benefits to Agra’s residents and boost tourism in the city.
