Raj and DK discuss alternative careers if they weren’t directors

In a panel discussion at FICCI Frames, Mumbai, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK shared insights on their filmmaking journey. They discussed how they honed writing, editing, and sound skills to become the acclaimed creators of ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Guns & Gulaabs’.

DK mentioned, “It is a difficult choice between being a writer and being an editor. These are the first two things we did when we decided to make our own films.” Raj added, “We kind of taught ourselves writing, editing, and sound. Put us in any department, we can, we hope, do what is required. That’s how we got to know how to make films.”

The duo emphasized on being self-sufficient in filmmaking, aiming to handle various aspects of the craft. Raj jokingly mentioned DK’s venture into ‘acting’, to which DK responded, “I would love to be an actor. I just wish I was better. I became a director so that I could cast myself.”

Raj and DK are currently working on the Indian adaptation of ‘Citadel’, originally starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra. The series will feature Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and other talented actors in pivotal roles. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!
