Calicut Heroes Defeat Ahmedabad Defenders in PVL Season 3, Upset Super 5s Standings

Calicut Heroes emerged victorious with a 15-11, 8-15, 15-8, 15-11 win over Ahmedabad Defenders in the third season of the Prime Volleyball League at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The battle of outside hitters set the tone for the match, with Jerome Vinith being named Player of the Match for his stellar performance.

The match started with Max Senica leading the charge for Ahmedabad, countered by Chirag Yadav’s efforts for Calicut. Perotto’s serves helped Calicut maintain balance, while Vinith’s powerful smashes secured an early lead for the defending champions. Angamuthu and Nandhagopal’s attacks further bolstered Calicut’s position.

As the game progressed, Ahmedabad fought back with Muthusamy’s serves and Angamuthu’s brilliant performance. However, Chirag’s smashes and Danial’s defense limited Ahmedabad’s momentum. Nandha’s errors proved costly for Ahmedabad, as Calicut capitalized on Ukkrapandia’s strategic play to take control of the match.

Vikas Maan’s blocks and Ukkra’s defensive prowess proved crucial in securing the win for Calicut. Jerome’s consistent form throughout the game was instrumental in maintaining Calicut’s lead and ultimately sealing the victory. The win keeps Calicut Heroes in contention for the Super 5s in the league.
