Miriam Margolyes thinks adult fans should move on from the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise

Actress Miriam Margolyes, known for her role as Professor Pomona Sprout in the ‘Harry Potter’ series, believes that adult fans should move on from the fantasy film series as it is primarily for children. She expressed her views in an interview with New Zealand’s 1News, stating that the series is meant for a younger audience and adults should not get stuck in it.

Margolyes played the character of Professor Pomona Sprout, who taught herbology at Hogwarts and was the head of the Hufflepuff House. She appeared in ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ in 2002 and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2’ in 2011. Despite acknowledging the series as “wonderful” and expressing gratitude for her involvement, she emphasized that it’s time to move on from it.

In the interview, Margolyes humorously commented on fans who incorporate ‘Harry Potter’ themes into their weddings, questioning what their first night of fun would be like. She playfully mentioned, “I can’t even think about it. No.” While she appreciates the impact of the franchise, she believes that it’s important for fans to let go and not remain fixated on the series that concluded years ago.

As a seasoned actress with a notable role in the iconic ‘Harry Potter’ series, Miriam Margolyes’ perspective offers a fresh take on the fandom surrounding the films. While she values her contribution to the franchise, she encourages fans to embrace new experiences and not dwell on past obsessions.
