Neymar making ‘positive strides’ in recovery from knee injury

Star forward Neymar is expected to make a return from his knee injury in July or August, according to Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar. The 32-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in October 2023 and has been undergoing recovery since then.

Lasmar mentioned, “Neymar has shown good progress and is expected to return to the pitch [after a recovery period of] nine or 10 months.” However, the exact timeline for his return will only be determined as they get closer to the end of the recovery period.

Neymar has already started working on muscle strengthening under medical supervision at his club Al Hilal. It is likely that he will miss the upcoming Copa America tournament scheduled from June 20 to July 14, as he continues with his recovery process.

Despite concerns about Neymar’s future performance post-injury, Lasmar reassured that the expectation is for Neymar to be fully recovered and resume playing at a high level without any restrictions. The medical team is optimistic about his return to form.
