Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming streaming movie ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’, has revealed her love for Russian history of the 20th century and Russian literature. In a recent interview with IANS, she discussed her fascination with the key moments in Russian history and her favorite Russian authors.

Sara, a history student herself, expressed her interest in how major events in Russia unfolded within a short span of 100 years, from Vladimir Lenin to the fall of the Soviet Union. She highlighted figures like Joseph Stalin, Nikita Khrushchev, and Mikhail Gorbachev, emphasizing the rapid changes that took place in the country during that time.

Notably, Sara mentioned Nikita Khrushchev’s role in denouncing Joseph Stalin’s crimes and initiating the policy of de-Stalinization. She also discussed her passion for Russian literature, naming Fyodor Dostoevsky as her favorite author and citing works like ‘Crime and Punishment’ and ‘Anna Karenina’.

The actress expressed her admiration for Russian culture and history, mentioning her special affinity for the country as a history enthusiast. Fans can catch Sara in ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ as it premieres on Prime Video on March 21.
