Mumbai, March 21 (IANS) Actress Sohaila Kapur will be seen portraying the role of a queen in the upcoming period drama film ‘Bengal 1947: An Untold Love Story’. The film, directed by Akashaditya Lama, explores a unique love story set against the backdrop of historical events.

In the film, Sohaila Kapur plays a compassionate and caring queen who engages with her people during a rebellion against the British. The actress was drawn to the character because it reminded her of warrior queens like Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi.

The cast of the film includes Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Omkar Das Manikpuri, and other talented actors. Sohaila Kapur shared that the film touches upon themes of royalty, revolt, and caste discrimination, shedding light on historical ties between Jharkhand and Bengal royalty.
