DC win toss, elect to bowl first as Nortje, Mukesh join team in Pant’s 100th IPL game against RR in IPL 2024

Delhi Capitals have won the toss and elected to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in match nine of IPL 2024 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium on Thursday. This match marks skipper Rishabh Pant’s 100th IPL outing for Delhi Capitals, making him the first player from the franchise to reach this milestone.

Pant returned to action after a 14-month layoff due to injuries in DC’s tournament opener against Punjab Kings. Anrich Nortje and Mukesh Kumar replace Shai Hope and Ishant Sharma in the playing XI. Pant mentioned concerns regarding injuries but expressed the importance of every game.

On the other hand, RR had a good start to the tournament by beating Lucknow Super Giants. Captain Sanju Samson expressed his team’s readiness and mentioned that they will stick to their process for success. The pitch report suggests low bounce for bowlers with the new ball.
