IPL 2024: Riyan Parag’s unbeaten 84 leads RR to competitive 185/5 against DC

Jaipur, March 28 (IANS) – Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder Riyan Parag stole the show with a brilliant unbeaten 84 off 45 balls against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. His outstanding performance helped RR post 185/5 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday.

Parag started slowly but accelerated his innings after Ravichandran Ashwin’s cameo, scoring 58 runs in just 19 balls. His efforts, along with contributions from Ashwin, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer, helped RR put up a competitive total.

DC’s fast-bowling pair of Khaleel Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar bowled well initially, but they were taken to the cleaners by Parag in the later overs. His aggressive hitting in the final over, where he scored 25 runs, proved to be crucial in pushing RR past the 180-run mark.

Despite a good start with the new ball, DC faltered in the middle overs and struggled to contain Parag’s onslaught. The young all-rounder’s remarkable innings left the opposition bowlers with no answers and showcased his talent in this edition of the IPL.

In response, Delhi Capitals will have to come up with a strong batting display to chase down the target set by Rajasthan Royals. With Parag in top form, RR will be looking to defend their total and secure a crucial victory in the tournament.

The match between RR and DC promises to be an exciting contest between two competitive sides in the IPL. Fans can expect a thrilling encounter as both teams look to outclass each other and secure valuable points in the early stages of the tournament.
