Rajasthan Cricket Association executive dissolves, appoints ad-hoc committee

Jaipur, March 29 (IANS) Rajasthan government has dissolved the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) executive following complaints of alleged irregularities in the state body. The Cooperative Registrar, Archana Singh, dissolved the existing committee late on Thursday night and formed an ad hoc committee with BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani as the coordinator.

The new committee includes state health minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar’s son, along with members from various district cricket associations. The RCA executive elections will be conducted within 3 months after the Lok Sabha polls under the supervision of the ad hoc committee.

BJP Sports Cell convenor, Brij Kishore Upadhyay, stated that the government’s action aims to end corruption and dictatorship in Rajasthan cricket. The previous Congress government’s tenure saw financial irregularities within RCA, leading to the dissolution of the executive for a fair investigation against them.

The Sports Council had taken action against RCA earlier for financial irregularities and rule violations, resulting in the sealing of the RCA office. Despite multiple opportunities, RCA officials failed to submit necessary documents, leading to the final action taken by the government on Thursday night. The investigation aims to bring justice to players and sports lovers in Rajasthan.
