New Delhi, April 16 (IANSlife) – Atlantis Dubai announced that Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal have earned the Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) designation from IBCCES, making them the first resort destination in the Eastern Hemisphere to achieve this status. The certification reflects their commitment to providing exceptional experiences to guests with diverse needs, ensuring an inclusive environment.
Kelly Timmins, Director of Marine Animal Operations and Sustainability at Atlantis Dubai, stated, “We are incredibly proud to become the first resort destination in the Eastern Hemisphere to earn the Certified Autism Center™ (CAC) designation.” This accomplishment is part of their long-term Corporate Social Responsibility strategy under the Atlantis Atlas Project, aiming to support people and the planet in their journey to sustainable tourism.
IBCCES awards the CAC™ designation to organisations completing a training process to better assist autistic and sensory-sensitive guests. At least 80 percent of colleagues are trained in autism and sensory awareness, enabling them to provide optimal service. Atlantis Dubai staff underwent extensive training with over 90 percent of guest-facing colleagues completing Autism & Sensory Awareness (ASA) training.
In addition to training, Atlantis Dubai provides downloadable sensory guides on their website for guests to pre-plan their visit. Quiet zones are available at both resorts for moments of respite from sensory stimulation. By completing the CAC™ programme, Atlantis Dubai is helping Dubai become the first Certified Autism Destination™ in the Eastern Hemisphere, showcasing the city’s dedication to inclusivity and accessibility for all travelers.

During World Autism Month in April, Atlantis Dubai offers complimentary access to Aquaventure Waterpark and The Lost Chambers Aquarium for persons of determination. Two complimentary tickets are available for a person and a caregiver with valid ID, and two accompanying guests receive 50 percent off admission.
