Giancarlo Esposito Opens Up About Plotting His Own Death

The audiences are somewhat difficult to please, and sometimes smaller roles don’t create enough impact to gain significance for yourself. So, back in 2008, Giancarlo was facing some financial issues. Things went so bad that he started plotting his death.

Giancarlo Esposito planned to off himself so that his family could take over the insurance money and sustain themselves. He did that because he had four children to take care of. Later, he also thought about whether a suicide case would even grant the insurance claim anyway.

“My way out in my brain was: ‘Hey, do you get life insurance if someone commits suicide? Do they get the bread?’ My wife had no idea why I was asking this stuff. I started scheming. If I got somebody to knock me off, death by misadventure, [my kids] would get the insurance. I had four kids. I wanted them to have a life. It was a hard moment in time. I literally thought of self-annihilation so they could survive. That’s how low I was,” is exactly what he said about his mental state and his plans behind the plot.

But after careful consideration, he realized that his death would rather take a huge emotional toll on his loved ones, for which he backed off and started focusing more focus on his career.

He worked hard and landed significant roles like the one in Breaking Bad, which is loved by so many people from all around the world.

Giancarlo Esposito opened up about not losing hope even during the darkest times in his life.

Difficult times arise, and it’s the way one can battle through it that makes the difference in life and not giving up.

He has now recently been seen in the show “Parish,” which is critically appreciated as he plays the role of a driver entangled with the drug world and some more mystery.
